Where Is My Sewer Cleanout? How to Find It
What it looks like
A short pipe, usually 3 or 4 inches, with a threaded or push cap, sticking out of the ground or flush with it.
Where to look
Near the foundation on the side where the main drain exits, often close to a bathroom, or along the path toward the street.
Why it matters
A cleanout gives direct access for clearing clogs and running a camera without pulling a toilet.
No cleanout?
Some older homes have none or a buried one. Installing an accessible cleanout makes future service simpler.
